With a view of economy can forbid the big TVs

The governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger (Arnold Schwarzenegger) intends to forbid in the staff of sale LCD - and plasma TVs with a diagonal of the screen more than 40 inches as similar devices, in its opinion, consume too much electric power, write Mail Online. To take out the final decision it is planned already on November, 4th, 2009

According to experts if sales of such devices are forbidden, during the following of 10 years of California it will be possible to save $8 on an electricity. Thus the annual economy from each TV will make about $32.

Experts concerning environment have supported the given initiative, however it has displeased manufacturers of electronics. According to Association of manufacturers of electronics (CEA), in case of an interdiction manufacturers should withdraw from sale about 25 % of all devices as such share is occupied with TVs with a diagonal of the screen more than 40 inches. According to the senior director CEA for direction Tecnology Policy and International Affairs Johnsons Arch (Doug Johnson), the voluntary measures directed on reduction of power consumption, it is quite enough and without interdictions of from outside regulating bodies.

On a food of TVs 10 % of the electric power dwveloped in California leave approximately. Thus given staff the most occupied in the USA (about 37 million inhabitants in 2008) that inevitably conducts to high number of household electroconsumers, including flat panel TVs.

Restrictions it is planned to enter into two stages. At the first stage from the beginning of 2011 TVs with a diagonal of the screen to 58 inches should meet special requirements on power consumption. In 2013 new, more rigid rules will be entered. Schwarzenegger has supported the given plan. Which restrictions should be imposed on devices ith a diagonal of more than 58 inches, it is not solved yet.

According to the manufacturers who have familiarised with new regulations, not less than hundreds the TVs which are on sale in the market of the USA, already meet new requirements. Thus the companies constantly improve the technologies used in TVs that allows to reduce power consumption. For example, to make it light-emitting diode illumination which is applied in many new models LCD-- allows.

We will notice that flat panel TVs get under a legislature sight not for the first time. An interdiction for sale of plasma TV as in respect of power consumption, in 2007 Englishmen planned to enter less effective, in the beginning of 2009 the similar initiative has been offered for Europe as a whole.
