TVs and mobile phones have helped Samsung to set up a profit record

The net profit of South Korean company Samsung Electronics in 3rd quarter 2009 has grown more than in 3 times and has made $3,14 against $1,03, received for the similar period of previous year. It is the greatest volume of profit received for the three-monthly period since 2004 the Previous record the company has fixed in 1st quarter 2004 ($2,65), inform Associated Press.

The Company management has explained the received results rise in prices and demand for memory chips (thanks to growth of demand for portable electronics), good sales of LCD-panels, flat TVs and mobile phones.

Sales of flat TV have grown on 24 % in comparison with the similar period of last year and on 22 % in comparison with the last quarter 2009 to 7,73 million units. The company marks good demand for LCD-TVs with light-emitting diode illumination (so-called LED-TVs) in economically deeveloped countries (the USA, Europe) and on LED-TVs with a diagonal of the screen from 40 inches, in particular. And also improvement of sales of LCD-TVs with traditional lamp illumination in countries BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India and China). As of the end of September, 2009 the company has sold 1,2 million LED-TVs and by the end of the year plans to increase this number to 2,5 million pieces.

Sales of mobile phones have increased by 16 % in comparison with last year and on 15 % on comparison with 2nd quarter 2009 to 60,2 million units. Confident sales of phones Samsung with the touch screen in the developed markets at the expense of a ruler diversification (increase in number of models in various price ranges) are marked. And demand grows in developing countries from outside trade channels that is connected with preparation for a celebratory season. Samsung is the second-large manufacturer of cellular telephones after Nokia.

In 4th quarter 2008 Samsung Electronics has fixed the loss, however all three quarters since then has finished in plus. The company does the optimistical forecast for 4th quarter of year characterised by traditional seasonal increase of demand (in particular, the company waits more a great demand on TV and phones), and for all 2010 in connection with economic restoration.

In February, 2009 Samsung declared reorganisation in which frameworks the number of divisions of the company has been reduced. Samsung Electronics is engaged in release of semi-conductor components, television panels, electronic and home appliances, mobile phones.
